Tinder : When that person you went out with one (1) time decides to « break up »
Some people play a game on deployments (US Air Force) where they’ll pick someone they see regularly around the base (dining facility, gym, library, etc.) and call them their « deployment girlfriend. » (Or boyfriend.)
Then, they NEVER talk to that person for the whole deployment. Not even one time.
Finally, towards the end of the deployment, they publicly « break up » with that person. So the first time they interact is when he goes up to her in the dining facility and says something like « Look, we’re about to go home, and I just don’t think that this is going to work long distance. I think we should break up. I hope you understand. »
It’s a little tricky to not make people feel like the butt of a joke, and just confuse or amuse them (with a little luck, they know the game), but when it’s done right, it’s hilarious.
