Plenty of Fish is basically a spam site now. It was different 4-5 years ago, but most people you will see are bots now, and PoF has no incentive to change that. That’s why the search option is so crap: most of the people that you see are fake accounts made by PoF, or bots.
Try it: go to google and search for one of the people that expressed interest for you. Chances are, you can’t find them outside of the PoF app
