Honestly, I think everything POF does is to sell upgrades. In the future I think it will come out that they created fake profiles to get desperate people to pay to find out who « wants to meet you. »

Because of where they put it. If you want to unsubscribe from their spam, people just start clicking no to all those boxes, one of which says something like « accept mail from non-upgraded users » and they get « tricked ».
It is fake and done by POF intentionally. I posted about this last year. I came across this a lot. I decided to test it out. I had a buddy who was also a member find a woman who had this message come up. When he tried to message her, it didn’t pop up and he was able to. It is completely random and used to try and sell their worthless bullshit « Upgrade » feature.
