h2>Dating : The murder of Olivia Sanz — A short story
It was her father who first noticed she wasn’t alive anymore, but it was the priest who screamed first. Olivia was her father’s princess, he loved her more than life itself, but when he noticed what had happened he felt pity for Oliver, he knew he was the right man for her, no one had made her that happy in her entire life, and because Oliver and Olivia were more than 6 years together before getting married, her father knew Oliver well, and he knew his heart would be broken forever, Oliver was never finding happiness again.
What happened in Oliver’s mind remains a mystery for everyone, apparently his mind stopped for a moment and blocked those memories, he spent the next seven days trying to remember how it happened, he wanted to know why, as most living people who face the loss of a loved one, he needed a reason, yet he found none. If you wonder how he managed to keep himself together, don’t waste your time. He did not.
Some believe Oliver lost his mind; however, we know better. Olivia was Oliver’s joy, happiness, love and family, and now she was also his suffering, his sadness, desperation and loneliness, and as a man can lose his mind if lost in a forest, Oliver lost his heart, it entered into the forest named Olivia’s Memory and it never came back. He desperately tried to remember what happened when she died, yet every time his mind became clouded and nothing was clear… until he visited her. The last time anyone saw Oliver he was on his way to the chapel he got married, the same chapel where Olivia was buried. He walked looking at the sky, it was clear, just as the wedding day, and when he got to her grave if finally came to him, as clear as the sky above him.
She was saying her votes, and as the first time they met, Oliver heard nothing but the sweetness of her voice, she said yes and the priest asked for Oliver’s votes, however, Oliver noticed a big dark cloud covering half the sky above them, he always remembered that date with a cloudless sky but this time there was a cloud, and when he looked at Olivia’s eyes, full of light and love, he felt a river of sadness flowing through his face, not knowing if they were tears or rain. He looked again at the cloud and came back to Olivia’s eyes, he sent his hand into his pocket and while saying “I miss you”, he drove a knife into her heart, stealing the light from her eyes, ending forever her life.
At the end, there was a body, there was no light, and there was a cloud.
