She looks below. Under her feet is a splendid view of the city, one that is inferior to none. She looks around, at all the splendor and majesty around her, and she just feels cold. Of all the power in her grasp, all the money that she possesses, it is all useless and can’t fix any of her problems.

Her beautiful city is one that is wealthy; it lacks the very poor and homeless. However, it also has a large, dark underbelly — it brings in much money through its first class brothels, and it has the best assassins on the continent. Anything goes here, if enough money is present, and as the ruler and richest of them all, her word is law here.

She has every worldly possession that she desires in her hands, and everyone with power will curry favor with her, but she still lacks everything. She has everything that money can buy, but nothing that it can’t. She has no true friends or family; all she has is one faithful servant from her childhood. Everyone else is dead and gone, or a traitor.

She has everything, but lacks everything, and the thought of this makes her feel hollow inside. She hopes that one day she will find something to live for and truly work towards, but she doubts it. She lacks nothing, and so she finds nothing also. She thinks that she should take a break from ruling the city and go travel somewhere.

She smiles. Finding new things, meeting new people, and searching for a new purpose — none of that sounds bad to her. This way, she can make true friends, ones who don’t want to befriend her just for benefits. She’s always been of the decisive sort, so within a week, she sneaks out of her city to seek her fortune elsewhere, searching for something to get rid of the loneliness in her heart.
