“Dude, the VR is working,” says a guy leaning into the bedroom of his roommate.
“Sweet!”
They gather in the guy’s bedroom, which has been turned into a set for a science-fiction movie. The entire movie takes place in the cockpit of ship, which is the room. His bed is just a mattress hidden behind some plywood siding.
“Alright, here put this on,” says the guy, donning a black headset.
The roommate puts it on. “Damn, Dan, this really feels like I’m in an Elder Scroll.”
“Yeah!” says Dan, fiddling with the settings on his computer.
“WOAH,” says the roommate. “The horse just got ripped apart by physics and now I’m flying high in the air.”
“Shit!” says Dan. “I thought it would stop doing that…”
The roommate widens his stance as if he might fall. “Oh, shit… I’m really spinning.”
Dan bangs out something on the keyboard. “How about now?”
“OH! Now the air has caught fire!”
Dan goes back to typing.
“OH GOD!” The roommate says. “I’m spinning and falling and on fire!”
Without warning, he pukes.
“SHIT, DEREK!” says Dan.
“Sorry!” he rips off the headset, wiping his mouth. “That was really wild. I almost forget it wasn’t real.”
Dan pauses. “Lemme try…” He snatches it out of his hand and puts it on. “Resetting it…”
“Careful…” Derek says.
Dan looks around for a while. “Ohh.. Yep. The horse just got pulled apart by physics. Yep, I’m flying through the air…” Dan is more adjusted but still distressed.
“What’s going on!”
“DAMN! There are dragons eating me, I’m on fire, spinning, and falling!”
“That doesn’t seem right!”
Without warning, Dan pukes.
“Oh shit!” he says, pulling off the headset and wiping his mouth. “I didn’t expect that…”
“I told you…” Derek says.
They look at each other for a beat.
“Well, I guess we should clean all this up…” Dan says.
“Yeah…” Derek says. Another beat.
“Wanna try it one more time first?”
“Yeah!”
