The battle raged on through the night, there were no winners, there was only death and blood everywhere. The battle was to defend the Kingdom of King George against the barbarian invaders.

Sir Robert was now fighting like a machine. The hordes were coming to him and the fighting continued. He thought back to how the day had begun for him. It was nothing like the chaos and confusion of battle in which he was now surrounded in. The side of his stomach hurt, he was grazed by an arrow.

That morning Sir Robert awoke from a deep slumber beside the woman he loved. It was a secret romance and they had kept it a secret for two years now. His lady love was waiting for him and he had promised her that morning that he would return to her side as soon as the battle was over.

Sir Robert had joined as a Knight the Realm of King George two years ago. He was a favourite of the old King George and was given great wealth and power by the monarch for all the brave deeds he had done. Over the past two years, he had also found his childhood sweetheart.

Sir Robert of Ravensland, was the identity he assumed when he rescued a dying Knight on a battlefield. He became Sir Robert and entered the jousting tournament as a visiting Knight. His ladylove was shocked to recognize that the winner of the tournament was her childhood sweetheart.

The battle raged on as Sir Robert saw that dawn was breaking over the horizon. His body was in pain now, as he noticed a large bloodied wound on the front of his chest. He seemed to be immune to the pain, as he kept defending and attacking, never stopping. His arms ached but he still fought on. Sir Robert had to return back to see his ladylove.

Just when he thought that all was lost, he caught sight of the barbarian King, he rushed towards him and plunged his lance into his barbarian heart. the battle was over, the Kingdom was saved and so was his ladylove.

In a flash, it happened, he was back beside Queen Gwen, the young and beautiful bride of King George. Queen Gwen his ladylove and soon to be the mother to his child.

That was the secret that he was to take to his grave that day. Sir Robert had kept his promise that he would return to Gwen’s side, to see her before his soul travelled to the Realm of Eternity, after a glorious death on the battlefield.
