POF : Are suggestive profiles Scams?

POF : Are suggestive profiles Scams?

Alright so I want serious input about this

If i go on pof and select looking for long term dating, seeking a serious relationship in my city, I’m finding a lot of profiles in my age group of females taking butt shots.

Obviously the ones asking for money or hinting on their profile are prostitutes

But what’s the deal with the others? They typically insist on switching to snap. I dont yet have snap and got a couple questions.

1. They’re likely attracting loads of men like moths into a flame so isn’t the probability very low that out of all men if your look is typical, theyre going to magically zone in on you? Arent u just going on snap for little reason? Im assuming they put seeking serious due to not wanting to put dtf on their profile?

2. Is it one of those things where they want an idiot to send a pic of their genitals in hopes of blackmail for money?

3. Again whats the deal with all these suggestive profiles and snap? Whats going on so i know if its a waste of time or not?

  1. Women (and men of course) like validation. Putting a sexy shot on gets more matches, thus more validation. I’ve met perfectly normal dates on POF who do this.

Asking for snap is typically a precursor to a scam of some kind. Likewise with anyone just giving you their number after 2 or 3 generic messages; I just ignore them. Anything that gets you off the platform is what you want to avoid, unless you’re satisfied enough that they’re actually a potential date. It’s still a minor risk.

You do get some who just can’t be bothered, but they’re a minority compared to the scammers. Personally, « I don’t really use this anymore, add my snap xx_noonecares_69 » doesn’t scream « full of beans and up for a laugh » to me. Again, I ignore them personally. And again, it’s more than likely a scam.

You get lots advertising their Instagram; I’ve met a couple that did that. Some are getting more followers with no interest in dating, others just want to prove that they’re a real person.

Best way to weed the scammers out is to engage in conversation. If they can respond to your questions with a quirky angle that keeps the conversation interesting, they are probably a decent human being, interested in dating rather than financial gains.

Hope this helps, and happy fishing!
