POF : Did exactly as requested, still no response
Found a profile that said « Looking for conversation » as their heading, then the description said something along the lines of, « Tell me something about yourself, and I’ll reciprocate. » So, I did exactly that. The user viewed my profile, then ignored the message

How long has it been? I don’t want to get your hopes up, but I messaged a guy before and he viewed my profile, read my message and didn’t respond right away. I was bummed cause I was very attracted to him. He ended up responding the next day. It made me feel silly in retrospect. Worst case scenario is she never responds and it’s not too big of a deal. 🙂 she’s not the only girl out there.

Maybe they weren’t attracted to you, or your profile put them off. Whenever I send a message I try and send one to five people, so I don’t get too hung up on one profile.
Learn from this. What you read in the profile is not always true. Some people actually lie in their profile sometimes.
Expect this 99% of the time.
I suspect a lot of the profiles that ask for a lot of information are just catfishes.
Like when I saw this profile, I already knew it was probably fake. Too much superfluous writing and a really sketchy pic.
