POF : Different profile pic rules for men and women?
Hi,
I see women who have sayings posted on their profile along with their pictures. I’m a guy and today I tried to post a saying that had a person in the picture. It was taken down and I was told I’m not allowed to post pictures of inanimate objects. So I re posted a different version of the saying without a person in it, just text. That got taken down also.
Are there different rules for what women and men are allowed to post (in the profile pics) and if so what’s the reasoning behind that?

Yes there are different rules. Welcome to online dating.
One main rule is guys can’t post shirtless pictures, which is stupid. What if you’re into fitness and want to show your body? Its not like you’re whooping out your dick. Some of the rules are dumb.
I’ve seen pics of dogs, cars, sunsets, motivational… but when i post that, they’re taken down. Women do « arty » pics, of say, just they’re eye, or black and white of their forehead and just their fringe. I honestly got to a point where, just out of spite, I’d report those profiles for breaking the policy on pics, and use the comment section to complain about the double standard.
On a side note, there’s a really stupid feature where you can send pics on POF, but only pics that are already on your profile. Pointless, in my eyes. However, if you want to send other pics during a conversation, upload it to your gallery, then send it to the recipient, then delete it from your gallery before mods delete it for you. I do think that if you continually break policy, you can have your account suspended, so don’t wait until the mods delete the pic. Do it as soon as you’ve sent it.
