POF : Recent Hack
I’ve recently been hacked. Had five messages in my inbox. Four of them were from guys. Now guys aren’t even on my radar. Literally. When I log in not a single guy shows up. When I do a search not a single guy shows up. I haven’t clicked onto a guy’s profile since my friend was single and she was sending me links to do a red flag check for her, which ended years ago.
Yet there were two guys where the first message was apparently sent by me, merely saying « hi, » and the response was « wtf? » (with one guy following up with a message asking « how the hell I got his profile. ») The other two I apparently initiated, only their response was to say hi back. On a hunch I checked my sent messages, and it showed page after page of messages sent exclusively to guys.
The fifth email was from the PoS… I mean PoF team trying to sell me tokens. Nothing quite like paying for the privilege of some idiot creeping guys out on your behalf. I can’t figure out the angle because a spammer wouldn’t be considerate enough to set my search settings back to female when they’re done. I do have rivals who would hack into my account and send messages to straight men on my behalf, but they would keep it local to really put the heat on me, possibly even get me run out of my little speed bump of a town that considers Matthew Shepherd’s killers heroes. After a sampling of the profiles the men are straight but spread all over the US. Hardly the MO of my rivals, so this has me completely baffled.
Can everyone reading this go onto PoS… I mean PoF, check their sent messages, and let me know if there’s any unusual activity there? I’m trying to figure out if this was a site wide hack or if I was targeted specifically.

It’s just you. And someone changed your « looking for » from guys to girls, I suspect.
Don’t share your passwords between sites. POF didn’t hack you.
