POF : What do you think about girls asking out guys?
Hey guys. We did a video this week ([https://youtu.be/nO9ii8wN5Tw](https://youtu.be/nO9ii8wN5Tw)) answering a question asking, « Do you like when a girl straight up asks for a number or shoots a pick up line if you’ve only had a short interaction? » I think it came from the dating advice subreddit, but I couldn’t find the original post.
Anyway, we interpreted the question as asking about role reversal. So per the post title, what do you guys think about a girl asking out a guy? We didn’t think there was anything wrong with it. The social norms are that guys ask out the girls, but hey equality right? Why not? Really curious to see what people feel on this as I also see a bunch of posts from guys complaining on how things like dating apps are built around the basic premise that guys have to initiate and that girls SHOULD initiate rather than just « that sounds alright. » Don’t agree with that opinion, but some people feel that way.
So. How would you guys feel about a girl asking you out or hitting on you? How would you ladies feel about initiating?

It baffles me this is still an issue in 2019. It’s not 1950 any more. If a woman wanted to ask me out and show an interest then why should that be a problem?
I prefer it. It shows that they’re secure in themselves. That’s as attractive as a strong mind and anything that’s aesthetic. I wish that more women would do so.
Can’t speak for others but I’ve been on POF and other sites for the last 2 years and have had no issues asking out any guy I was chatting with/interested in who didn’t happen to ask first. Not meaning I waited to see if he would first, but rather if the urge struck that I wanted to meet in person, prior to the guy happening to ask, I’d ask. Same with exchanging numbers, moving off the site, etc.

Is it a thing that girls tend to wait? I must have missed that memo.
