Hey y’all this is my first time writing a post like this. I need some advice on how to approach this old crush after I swipe right on her. I know she swiped right on me and I’ve just been waiting, trying to figure out how I would start a conversation with her. I’ve known her since we were 8-9 years old. I was really crushing on her, hell, I even wrote a very cringeworthy, embarrassing letter telling her that I had a crush on her. We went our own ways the next year, after she moved away. She came back to my town during high school, but we never talked. Now I’m home for summer from my university program, and see that she swiped on me. Some details about me that might be helpful: I’m awkward, a big time overthinking maniac, and a hopeless romantic that has never been in a relationship. I would like to start something with her, but I’m not sure how, can I get some advice?

  1. Don’t overthink it. Swipe right, and think of a clever way to say « remember me? » She swiped on you, so she’s already interested. Just don’t sweat it and just be you

  2. You are overthinking it. Here’s what you do:

    1. Swipe right
    2. “Hey : )”
    3. “Let’s grab a drink/coffee tomorrow”
    4. “Sounds good. See you then”
    5. Go to date.

That’s literally all you need to do.

  3. You’re 21 with no experience. Be yourself, you’ll probably say and do something cringy, she might think it’s cute that you’re genuinely nervous. You might hit it off. You might not.

Either way, you’re 21 years old and you’ve still got a lot of life in you hopefully. Good luck bro

(For reference, I married my high school crush, the best girl I’ve ever met to this day. We ended it because I was underdeveloped and decided to develop a drug habit. Now I’ve moved on. She’s still a great girl, and now I hope that I’m a good enough guy for whatever great girls I meet. But there are many great girls out there, plenty of fish in the sea, no such thing as a one and only.)
