Tinder : Underagers

Tinder : Underagers

I’ve been noticing an odd trend in my own tinder experience lately, I have had a handful of girls that turned out to not be their age on tinder in just the last week. Most recently, a girl I added on snapchat was taking senior pictures.. And rightfully so, I let her know how stupid it is to lie about your age. So, I figured I’d make a thread about being smart on dating apps, because some people are absolutely not.

For the girls, you are not cute for being a minor hitting up dudes that are not minors. It’s not cute to like older guys when you’re 15, 16, 17. It’s illegal. Especially if you are lying about your age. Depending on your state, sending dirty pictures is child pornography, dirty talk could be used against you in court as intent, and anything physical can absolutely be statutory rape. For the guy, all of the above will be implications to be labeled a sex offender for life, in the case of child pornography, that’ll be both the girl and guy.

Be smart, know your local laws, and for the love of God, if they are not 18, tell them to fuck off. A quick thrill is not worth a lifetime of labels.

Be smart out there. Happy swiping!

  1. Indeed. I was 20 and matched with a girl who claimed to be 18. She looked 18, really didn’t think she wasn’t. Also didn’t think the 2 years age gap was wrong because we were both adults, or so I thought. she eventually told me she was lying about being 18…. I immediately blocked her. This is how this can be dangerous. Thank God she told me that before something more happened because I’d hate to be the guy who accidentally committed statutory rape.

  2. A girl I knew met her first boyfriend on Tinder, she was 17 and he was 23. They dated for 3 months and at the end of it he still didn’t know her real age, she even confided in me that she felt bad for not telling him but it « didn’t matter much ». Its insane how many things could have gone wrong for the both of them just because she was being selfish

  3. Well said! I almost got bitten with this a while back. Luckily for me I had a very very good lawyer who proved I was at no fault as things hadn’t gone far and I walked away.

Long story short. One little slag who couldn’t tell one word of the truth almost Ruined my life and I escaped by the skin of my teeth.

  4. Good thread, thanks for sharing. Good thing this is getting traction already. Would be nice to have ID confirmations when creating an account. I’d use tinder if I didn’t have to worry about underaged people and bots. Just seems like a waste of time.

  5. Even irl that shit happens. I met multiple women in bars or clubs which were under 18 and got in just because they were good looking. Without fake IDs!!!!!

In one case I knew that the girl before me was 17 (she told me), she didn’t have her ID card with her and got in without even beeing asked to show any ID. She just showed enough cleavage.

  6. Honestly props to this guy. He’s a real Chad for abiding by the law for our sakes as well as his.
Props to you mate you’re making tinder a better place!

  7. Take a screenshot of there profile with their age clearly visible. This could save you if anything. Be safe.
Edit: do this if you are about to get serious.(dating, and other stuff)

  8. Also encounter that with boys who lie about their age. But yeah, them kids are rampant on the platform nowadays. Can’t get laid without really securing if they’re of legal age or not.

  9. Would love a lawyer’s opinion on something like this. Suppose every piece of correspondence the girl said she was 18 years old you had no evidence whatsoever or any indication she was under 18. If you have sex with her, are you vulnerable to statutory rape charges? personally I wouldn’t mess with an 18 year old due to my age but you just made me curious about this.

  10. I agree with this. i saw a girl on tinder once, she said she was 24, but she looked 15, and her bio sounded like a 15 y/o so i definitely didn’t match with her, hell nah.

  11. Not that it matters but age of consent most places in the U.S. is 16.

But, if you want to get rid of most of the girls underage move your age range up to 20.

  12. Especially when, for some reasons, you’re still charged if they lie about their age. As if you were required to do a background check for all your matches

  13. In my country age of consent is 15 and you can normally find 13 year olds on these platforms saying they are sexually active and telling you it isn’t weird to have sex with them even if you are 5 years older

  14. Most of the US has an age of consent around 16-17 year old, and it’s even lover in other parts of the world.

Sure, be careful, because the law gets weird in this regard sometimes, but a 17yo girl is legal in 90% of the world, still for some reason, everyone speaks about 18 as a super hard border.

  15. Here’s a something most people don’t realize: a lot of younger people male and female on Tinder have inaccurate ages because they set up their Facebook account a long time ago with a fake age so they could get full use of the platform before they were 13 or 18 (I forget the exact age restriction). I know this because I have friends where their birthday notification shows up and it says they are 5 years older than they really are.

  16. Sex with 17yr is statutory rape . USA is funny. In any case this behavior is not only limited to tinder. How many times girl in club claimed she was older…

  17. FWIW: a lot of people lied about their ages when they created their Facebook accounts, then probably linked their facebook to their tinder, which then uses their age from Facebook.

Of course if this happens they should clearly state their true age on their bio
