POF : I live life to the fullest.
I’ve been on POF for quite some time and I find most people in my area to be outwardly optimistic and happy (judging from their profiles). I’m wondering what redditors think of the commonly used phrase « I live life to the fullest ».
This is not meant to be yet another discussion of dating site clichés but rather a discussion of these kinds of optimistic assertions. Do you believe these are sincere or are they meant to impress instead? Do you yourself live life to the fullest, and if so, how do you mean this and how do you do it? Do you think this optimism differs from the mindset of the people you meet outside of online dating?

Does she love to laugh?
Is her only hobby travelling?
Is she looking for her lobster?
Does she hate liars?
Does she only date 6 foot and above?
Is she fed up with weirdos/hates the website?

If she uses those things she probably won’t reply and if she does will out herself as an asshole pretty fast.
It makes me think they are basic.
I think they are trying to impress. But at least it seems like people have stopped saying they like « walk on the beach ». Now if only they could stop the « love to laugh »
