I can understand why some guys get upset when they are given no response or a shitty response.
It’s human nature to want to be loved and to find love. Guys are targeted by bots promising sexy times so it’s no wonder some guys treat every woman like they are just a hookup when this is what is presented to them. If however fake. And thus women respond as if every guy is just a pig in human clothing wanting only one thing.
But for those guys that actually take the time and read the profile , to find something to respond to and to show a woman he isn’t just another fuckboy only to be shot down without any real reason it does get jarring and tears a little at the soul. So why not act like a fuckboy, they seem to get the girl, right?
They say how difficult it is for women online, what with dick pics and short « hey wanna fuk » messages, but for guys it’s just as bad wading through the countless bots and scams who just want to take their money.
I’ve tried POF 3 times now in the past several years since I left my ex wife, and it’s my first real experience with dating since grade school and I try my hardest to be as honest as I can about myself and it’s always lead me to broken people, both guys and girls (I’m a pansexual male btw). They were all sweet, but just too much « baggage » as it’s been put and with my own stress it never helped. POF hasn’t helped in finding anything except bots, broken hearts and just honestly think it’s just better to stay single. I’m not a drinker nor do I smoke or anything along those lines. Just work and spend my nights with my cat. And I’m okay with that for the most part.
Sounds like someone’s experiencing a bit of the ol’ sour grapes.
I dont blame you though. Online dating is just rough all around.
POF has just been a horrible experience overall.
I’m a single guy with a full-time job and full custody of my child. It seems that no one within 25 miles wants that except bots.
My best guess is it’s guys who get sick of getting no response. It’s been rough on my self esteem, I know.
Based on the assumption that you’d sent a guy a « thanks but no thanks » message, he likely got his hopes up on seeing that he’d finally gotten a reply, only for it to turn to disappointment. That quickly turned to anger – you became the focus for the frustration of all the other unanswered messages and he vented it all.
Absolutely undeserved but sadly that’s what dating sites seem to have become.
You might find you have more luck with Bumble, as long as you don’t mind being the one to make first contact. I’ve been using it a day and I’m already chatting to a lovely young lady.
