Dating : #25 ~ Preach!!!!!!

#25 ~ Preach!!!!!!

After sessions with renowned speakers on diverse subject matters; there’s always this feeling of OMG!!!! Rema!!! Preach!!!

There’s is this feeling of fulfillment after an enlightening session. Personally, I don’t like motivational sessions where people drop lines or things like that. Occasionally, they make perfect sense but I observed that after the session, I forget what it was about. Sometimes, I don’t even see the authenticity in their word of wisdom.

Most times I don’t like to motivate people, I would rather tell a story that motivates. I attended a webinar by Oyinkansola Alabi today and I was awed. She was different. Not the regular aspire to inspire. She had so many nuggets to drop. I was really challenged and I enjoyed every moment. You can check out her website www.oyinkansolaalabi.com.

She said, ”it’s very easy to stand-out in Nigeria. Mediocrity full ground berekete.” I felt that. There’s room to penetrate. The sky is enough for everyone. Innovations in Nigeria is quite low. Partly, the system is to be blamed. Everyone just follows the normal trend. I have a lovely friend who told me that she sees the world in a different way. She asked me one day that why do people stress trying to learn things that machines can do or would be able to do in the next five years. I literally thought about that and I had no answer. In as much as she doesn’t believe it, I respect her a lot.

Oyinkansola also talked about prioritization, and that’s the one that perked my interest the most. She said she would rather spend her money developing herself than splurging. Well, we probably think alike but that’s not even the point. The benefits of self-development may not reflect in the present, it yields returns for the future. I have talked about this same topic in my previous posts and I will still talk about in future posts because it’s extremely crucial!!!!

Enjoyment is good. You only live once like people will say but do not prioritize foolish things over wisdom (in Oyinkansola’s voice). Whatever you spend your time doing, ask yourself, ”what’s the reward for doing this; what do I stand to gain?” If after you have analyzed that and there is no benefit or it has a low benefit, please eliminate it. 24 hours a day isn’t sufficient to cover all our activities, you can’t afford to waste your time on insignificant things.

This is not a word of wisdom. I am not here to inspire anybody to aspire because I am yet to even aspire. Pick the one that’s relevant to you from this write-up and enjoy your night.
