Dating : Date 2, Part 3. The Bond Over Brussels Sprouts

Bruce texted me! Not only did he text me, he texted me a picture of the brussels sprouts he’d made for dinner.

If you read my last post talking about how the highlight of our date was our bond over brussels sprouts, you can see why this is adorable.

In dating, it’s important to find someone who is weird in the same ways as you are. His brussels sprouts text confirmed this shared weirdness. I’m glad he enjoyed talking about our brussels sprouts recipes as much as I do.

In case you’re wondering, his secret is roasting them in the oven (whole) for 45 minutes at 400 degrees, with a pinch of thyme.

It turns out he likes to text – a lot. A lot more than I do. He started his new job today and will be going to skiing for the next two weeks, but I’m already looking forward to our next date.

California just lifted its stay at home order, which means there are more opportunities for proper first dates, but I kind of hope he invites me to his place to cook.

In the meantime, I’ve got four other dates lined up. The guy I had a Zoom date with before I left for LA also texted me and wants to hang out, but I’m not sure if I do. I’m not as excited about these dates anymore, but I think they will only confirm what a gem Bruce is.
