I often wonder, what happened?

What happened to all the feelings you claimed you had for me?

What made you lose those feelings?

The feelings that felt so good to me

The feelings that left me longing for you when you were away

What happened?

What happened to the days when we would stay up late, afraid of the time we would loose together if we had slept

afraid of the words left unspoken as our heads lay on our pillows

What happened,

to the dreams we would conjure up?

The ones where we would spend all our days together, lost in each others eyes.

I always imagined us wasting the day away together.

In our own little field of wildflowers.

but, even the prettiest wildflowers die.

and as the warm breeze suddenly turned cold, you were gone.

Leaving me to wonder,

what happened?
