I miss your embrace
Our long talks, lips that love me
Dreams of forever.

Is it truly you
Or an illusion I miss?
Don’t know anymore.

I know I want more
Than you are able to give
It aches me to say.

My mind is ready
But my heart won’t let you go
A great disconnect.

I don’t need you though
Never did. I chose our love.
And you let it go.

Now it is my turn
To let you go; move on as
you have without me.

They say time heals but
It romanticizes too.
Enlarging the void.

How much longer? How
Many more poems on you
Until my heart heals?

I have a few more
Burning within. Set them free
I shall. Set you free.

The illusion of your love
