Writing
This is a public ‘Thank You’ for all the newbies you’ve helped

When I started on Medium, I made $2.37 in the first six months, including three months with zero earnings. Then I began binging stories by the former librarian and Medium Sherpa, Roz Warren. The following month, I made $19.20 and have decent earnings since then. But never, ever a zero again.
Roz is not writing self-help do-better articles just for me. Anyone can read them. Now, I follow Roz and take action when she figures things out.
I learned to get better on Medium: I needed to read Medium writers. I needed to be kind, comment honestly, and write from the heart and not what I thought would make money. I’ve learned to post other writer’s stories on my Twitter and where ever I thought someone else might benefit.
Because Roz is a Sherpa, she figures Medium things out. I then come along reading those realities and acting on them. Here are two of her latest.
Read both to fully understand what I’m talking about. In both stories are hints on how to be successful on Medium. Claps are making a comeback is an interesting take on the recent handing out of money by the Medium gods. “I’m a Medium Yenta” is how Roz helps other writers. Both are well-written, good reads. P.S. I’m mentioned in ‘I’m A Medium Yenta’. I love that, of course.
Note that I’m using this article to take her advice on promoting other’s stories to those that might need them. I’m a shameless stealer of great ideas.
Take a moment and think. How many Medium articles have you written that helped others succeed on this constantly changing platform? By the time I figure something out, there are nine hundred confusing stories about the writing Medium process already posted. Roz takes the time to write a well-written article easily understood article designed to help.
Roz, we appreciate the help, even if we are the rude, loud kids you used to put out of the library. Keep letting us back in to read the good books. Thank you.
