While growing up, I had such a lady as my choir mistress.

She didn’t have much but from the little she had, she assists some of us.

She was the most generous person I know.

One day everyone was asked to get a certain uniform for a concert. Unfortunately, I couldn’t ask my parents for the money. So decided not to join them until after the concert.

To my greatest amazement, she invited me over a certain evening and gave me the money to get the materials.

Those little deeds earned her so much love and admiration from everyone in that choir.

And until tomorrow, she has a special place in my heart. Not just mine, but in everyone’s that she showed some love.

The good thing about being the first to give is that it doesn’t even matter how much or the worth of what you give – so long as you are the first to give.
