Dating : She’s Alive

I look out the kitchen window. There she is again, sitting crossed-legged on the grass with her eyes closed. I shake my head. What is she doing? Every day, she goes outside at 4 PM and sits on the grass with her eyes closed. “What is she trying to do?!” I ask aloud. I open the window and yell, “Hannah! What are you doing?!” She tilts her head towards me, her eyes still shut, but there’s a smirk on her face. I wait for a response… Nothing. I sigh. Well, okay. I try to concentrate on washing the dishes, but I just can’t. I go outside to Hannah. “Girl, what is it you’re trying to accomplish?” She opens one eye, then gives me a smile. “What does it look like I’m doing? I’m trying to be one with the earth.” She closes her eye. I guffaw. “One with the earth? What?! Girl. You’ll be one with the earth when you’re buried. Don’t speed up the process.” She says nothing to that. I watch her for a bit. “Well, alright, I’m gonna go inside now.” As I walk toward the house, I look back at Hannah from time to time. Each time I do, her body sinks deeper and deeper into the grass. By the time I went inside and looked out the window, she had become one with the Earth.
