A stroll on the beach

Barefoot
we were walking
on the beach
over arms tightly
engulfed
the experience was
exquisite.

I turned my head
and saw
an endless trail
of two pairs of
footprints
I was struck with
joy
that trail was a
proof
of over lasting
relationship.

The waves of the sea
crashed into my ears
along with his soft whispers
I felt as if
my soul was being
caressed.

Such beauteous moments
such graceful charm
are pearls of experiences
to be treasured.

Now I am sitting on the sofa
with gray curls and wrinkled skin
those images of the beach
that trail of footprints
recollected & remembered
rejuvenates my being.

And softly tells
the trail is a proof
of our lasting
relationship.
