Poetry for a desperate heart

I’m effortless

Even when I give a little bit of effort.

Being a kid

Were my best years

Back when my fears

Was seeing my mother

With tears

I’m too stressed out

For hope to pat me on the back

I don’t wanna be broke anymore

My girlfriend sleeping on the couch

While I’m waking up

On the floor

Renting furniture

That’s all we could afford

No car

While the chosen one

Is driving a Honda Accord

I’m sorry…

For not being the grind that you wanted…

The devil may have my shine

And I’m starting not to want it…

A family may be on your mind

But I don’t want it…

Some people wake up

For a nine to five

But I don’t want it…
