Dating : Why It’s So Hard to Let Go of Someone You Love Who has Let Go of You

So, I would search and search online for anything to help me understand and to give me some advice on how to stop the pain and stop grieving so much, all the time, all day and night, everyday.

So what did I do?

As much as this helped, though, I would still relapse into my depressed state on a regular basis, so I kept searching within myself and on line for some advice. Then I stumbled upon something by @Elyse Santilli, which is 15 Magical Ways To Manifest Your Desires.

In this she lists and explains the 15 ways. They are:

1. Adopt an attitude of gratitude.

2. Visualise living your dreams with feeling.

3. Create a new identity.

4. Clean up your clutter.

5. Physically prepare for your dreams to arrive.

6. Ask for divine guidance.

7. Let go of attachment to outcomes.

8. Follow your intuition.

9. Feel good now.

10. Live in the present moment.

11. Write a dreams journal.

12. Celebrate your wins.

13. Use affirmations with feeling.

14. Exercise your imagination.

15. Find ways to live your dreams today.

Along with following and getting into the works of Trent Shelton, I began to implement these 15 activities and I began to feel better about myself, which allowed me to feel better about losing my relationship, and I began to let go. (Thanks Trent and Elyse!)

This then motivated me to go within and pay more attention to myself and to renew myself and to take better care of me. I recharged my daily meditation and prayer sessions and I would practice thankfulness and forgiveness (even forgiving myself for anything I had ever done wrong in the past). I began to change my perspective and understand that it is what it is and to know that was not necessarily a bad thing.

I also realized that I was more in love with the idea of being in love, as noted above, and that I needed to unattach that feeling to make room for the person meant to be connected with it for me.

Sure. I still miss my ex.

It’s just nostalgia. And thoughts of wishing that person the very best.
