Yesssssss, thank you for this article! I’m so tired of seeing stupid adverts pop up that say, “This is the ONE thing you can NEVER say to ANY man, unless you want to lose him.”

Married woman here. If asking about the level of commitment in your relationship scares a dude off, or something similar, then it sounds like what you want from relationships does not align.

Men who are secure in themselves, and truly value being with an empowered woman, don’t run off as soon as an uncomfortable conversation is brought up. We were even officially dating yet, and I (drunkenly) texted my now-husband asking if, “I was investing my time well” by spending so much time texting him.

Was he serious about where things are going, or was this just a game? I wanted clear communication (although I wouldn’t recommend having this kind of conversation after a flask of gin, and over text… I never said I was perfect haha).

He’s always appreciated my transparency, and clearly communicating what I value and where I see things going with us. He too was never interested in games, so that never caused friction between us.
