A Poem

The joy I feel when I’m with you,
Is like nothing I have ever felt before

The world fades away, it wholly gives way
To smile of your eyes and light that is you

Why am I so blind when it comes to you
I see your darkness seeping but nothing I do

Is it the compromise I’m making to be with you?
Or is it what true love turns me into…

A fool for love, for the affection of one, in my heart,
A glimpse of a smile, a touch so tender but oh so warm

Is it worth the sanity of the mind, of reason?
Of coldness of heart, of the emptiness of soul?

To me it’s a trade, well balanced and fair;
Your heart for me, my heart for yours.
