POF : 46 yr old male, matches and searches, mainly women 48+; do i need to put a fake profile with a lower age?
Signed up for POF less than 2 weeks ago. I’m 46, and most of my so called matches or suggestions, are women in their 50’s; I have no interest in dating women older than 50, and sporadically i will get somebody who is 44, 45, so now I’m thinking, do i need to create another profile with my age being 40, and then I’ll probably get women between 40 and 50? Maybe now I understand why women say on their profile, i’m actually this age!
What I usually do is the search functionality, but even that gives me limited results and i have the filters at this point set to all…sure, ive actually spoken to a couple of the 50 year olds that like me, had no kids, but not my preference.
I’m starting to think that maybe single women between 38-46 don’t exist and thus, that’s why I’m only getting 50+ year olds. Also, when I get messages, is women in their 50’s; i have no kids myself, so yea, kind of weird when they tell me, my kids are all grown up and got couple of grand children. Not my cup of tea as they say, so wondering if this is the norm on pof

As a fellow male and POF user, I encourage you to lie and be as deceitful as you can be, as I hear the females love that stuff and in no way would it give the honest people any leg up.
I am a 38F. We exist and I prefer older men, that being said if the men make reference to having children, I swipe left immediately as I am child-free and don’t wish to date men with children (even if older/out of the house).
I guess they have removed the age qualifier for messaging? Used to be that I could set what age was the limit before people could write me. That didn’t stop them from making a fake profile just to message me and tell me what a piece of shit I am for my preferences… but yeah.
Thats common, just put up a profile about 5 years younger than yourself, or use the search option.
