POF : 5 Red flags of POF
As someone who has used POF off and on for a few years I’ve started noticing certain red flags that seem to only occur when meeting women on POF. (This is not an attack on women, I’m a hetrosexual male so I’m only experienced with talking to women on POF).
1. They make more time for you when they’re at their work than when they’re at their home.
If you exchange numbers with someone on POF and they’re constantly texting you during their work hours, but drop off the face of the planet when they’re off work. This is a strong indication that they’re already in a relationship. In my experience when this happens it’s almost always that they’re married or living with a guy.
2. They mention that their previous relationship was an abusive one.
According to the Domestic abuse hotline website, it takes an average of seven times for a victim to leave their abusive partner before they leave for the last time. So if she’s just out of an abusive relationship, she’s statically due to go back to him. This may not be the case with all women, but with this average being so high, why take that chance?
3. They say they’re tired of everyone they date being a-holes.
We all know not every guy is an a-hole, so if all the guys she’s dated was an a-hole, then she makes poor choices and blames others for her poor choices.
4. She mentions astrology in her profile.
If she says something like « I can be stubborn, but that’s because I’m a Taurus » then what that means is she’s going to blame all her character flaws on being a Taurus instead of just admiting that she need to work on her character flaws.
5. She puts little to no effort into her profile.
If her profile is vague or looks like a carbon copy of dozens of other profiles. This is an indication that she will put little effort into her relationshis and expects the guy to put in all the work. Some things to look out for are headlines that say « Enter witty headline here » or « Not your typical girl » or the death knell of all headlines « Live, laugh, love ». Be on the look out for hiking and kayaking as hobbies and profiles that are literally blank.
So those are the big five to look out for.

Good list! I see the mentioning of astrology as a turn off, not so much a red flag, because I think astrology is bonkers.
Also, when a woman puts very little effort into her profile and it’s full of grammatical errors, that’s a turn off too. I hate it when all a woman writes is « Just ask » and has one photo.
I also hate negative profiles where she focuses on what she doesn’t want, over what she does want in a relationship. Plus photos of her sticking up her middle finger, smoking and/or drinking are turn offs and red flags.
Same deal with guy’s profiles, great list!
