POF : Blocks should NEVER result in Bans
I have not yet been banned, but this is a major concern for me and a major complaint by just about every male user on POF.
This week, two females (real ones, not bots) messaged me with one word messages. When I told them that us guys don’t like one word messages, they blocked me. Is what I said to them worthy of a ban? No it is not. But if I get a few more blocks by females like this, I will probably end up banned.
No one on POF should be getting banned, unless their profile and images are fake or the pictures contain nudity. Women are bitches so they are going to dislike and not be interested in 90% or more of all males. To ban those 90% or more males just because women block them is not fair, and it’s stupid. You aren’t going to have any male users left on POF if you keep banning them.

Blocking happens for all types of reasons now matter how trivial. Your blocking would have been automatic. You shouldn’t have said that, and would appear rather offensive to them as they weren’t really interested. Now you have learned your lesson.
I typically only say hello at first, I don’t want to spend a ton of time thinking of something witty/clever/personalized to the guy only to get ignored. Once he responds then we can get into all that.
I am a high proponent of not banning people for no reason. I also won’t goast anyone and I always try to cut everyone the benefit of the doubt. The problem is this all comes down to $$$. It costs $$ to have a human go through the banned profiles and read the message that lead to the bad. Trying to program for that is not easy either. Would everyone be happier, sure, is it worth the cost, they must not believe it is.
