POF : Child M*lester messaged me

Yesterday I was messaged by a guy whose profile had his link to his TikTok. I looked at his TikTok and it said that he was currently serving two life sentences in prison – and his videos were from in prison as well. Idk what the rules are for social media in prison, but whatever.

HOWEVER, his profile showed his full legal name and location.. and when I looked him up (because he wouldn’t say what he was in for) I found that he was serving two life sentences for aggravated child m*lestation and sexual battery. With a 10 year old girl.

With the only option on the App being to block someone, I sent a message to the POF Twitter account with screenshots and links to his profile, TikTok, and articles about his arrest and conviction. POF responded this morning and within an hour of their response his profile was removed.

I wish there was a way to report something like that within the app itself, but it was nice to see that they take that sort of thing seriously.

Edit: Uh, there’s no need to report this post as me needing help or being in crisis. It’s actually a bit triggering to be proud of the actions you took to remove a creep from a dating site and for someone else to see it as a sign of being in need.

  1. It’s so frustrating why the app doesn’t take steps on reporting, since I noticed there are many sex offenders on Pof, some on parole & shouldn’t have internet access. It’s pretty lame the app just tells you to block them, instead of take it seriously. I mean, I’ll be ok but what about others who aren’t as aware as me? Such a fail on POF safety.
