POF : Cross posted is it too much to ask that people actually read your profile
I don’t get a lot of messages but some of the one’s I do get are from guys who didn’t even bother to read my profile and it get’s so friggin frustrating. I am on here not for a long time or a good time, I am on here to find a great guy possibly that i can eventually have a long term relationship that may lead to marriage. I keep getting guys who just wanna hook up and it gets old after awhile. I asked a guy once if he read my profile and he said nope. I was like well then you should read my profile, and he goes nah I don’t want to. So I basically just said bye. I mean it really sucks now a days

Online dating is pretty terrible honestly. If you want something serious you need to wade through a ton of flaky, shitty people. There ARE good people on there, but it might take awhile for you to find them. Have you considered messaging first more and taking the initiative with the guys you do actually find interesting? I can say as a guy it’s EXTREMELY rare to get a detailed message from a girl that actually picked something out from my profile so it really gets my attention.
If you take the time to write something then I always take the time to read it and try to come up with a talking point based off of what you put. I know for a majority of people there’s a pretty high read through rate where it becomes a war of attrition to just send as many messages as possible. I don’t know what it’s like to be bombarded with flakes and hookups, but if it’s anything like the amount of meetme requests I get from bots, it can get frustrating.
I generally take the time to read the profiles. I do this because I put time and effort into mine, it is currently setup like a cover letter for a job. I think it is clever and have gotten some compliments about it. Do what I do, put in a random one line question. For example, mine is ask me about my favorite cheese. I have gotten so many messages just asking me about cheese. Sometimes the simple stuff gets them.
