  1. When I first signed up on POF back in 2009 I gave out my number to a guy and he ended up being a total creeper phsyco. He would call me asking if I missed him, and he would talk in this like creepy voice. Then one time he told me to go F myself. Ever since then I have been leary about giving out my number. Sometimes I will give it out but normally I won’t give out my number unless the first date goes well, or if they really want to talk outside of POF I will share my snap chat name. I don’t really post on snap chat but I don’t mind talking on there.

  2. Google voice numbers are free and act just like a regular phone number if you have the app on your phone. They can be deactivated easily, you do have to wait to get a new one, or get a new google account, which you can do at any time.

  3. I never give out my number in the first few days. The guys tend to be creepy who want it. About seven years ago there was a guy who harassed me for months because back then blocking a number didn’t block imessages. I couldn’t figure it out for months.

Funny story, broke up with my ex and matched with creeper. He tried messaging me but he was blocked. He could still call and it came up was weirdo. Yeah, called me various cuss words.

  4. I feel like it’s a waste of time mostly so I don’t do it initially. I tend to get to know someone a bit more before giving out my number to see if we’re looking for the same thing, or if I like what the guy is all about.
