POF : Giving out phone number on POF

I emailed a girl on POF after she looked at my profile and she got back to me.Below is my conversation with her.

Me :Hi, how are you? Her :I’m fine. How are you ?? Me: Busy I’m at work right now but maybe we can chat sometime at least your close . Her : Ok stay safe. Drop me your phone number. I will text you.

I figured we could chat back and forth some on the site first before a phone number exchange.I herd some horror stories about scammers and phone numbers.Am I being paranoid here or should I have sent here the number.Shes not a bad looking girl but not a supermodel pic like allot of scammers.I didn’t send her my number but emailed her some questions about her local newspaper nearest state park and if she lived here all her life.Still haven’t herd back from her.Anyone been in a similar situation.There was a time when I would of done it without a second thought.Thanks in advance.
