POF : Have you had a girl calling the police on you when showing up on a date, on this site?
I met this girl on POF, and we’ve been talking for a couple of weeks. She keeps texting all day long, long messages, just nonsense. Wouldn’t talk on the phone and wouldn’t meet up. I’ve asked her out a few times, answer’s always I need to get to know you better. Finally, she said you can come over. Went to her place, she came out and sat in your car for a while. Chick’s not normal tbh, looking around, and super paranoid. Was telling me stories about her father, ex..
Long story short, after like an hour in the car talking, police was knocking on my car window. I was like what the hell is going on? They were checking my license and asking all kinds of questions, like whether I had a weapon in my car or not? She walked into her apt without a word, and blocked my number.
Nothing on my part whatsoever. I am actually 6 1, in shape, and good looking, I have two jobs, nice car. And this is probably my third date on this site. She is 5′ 5″ like 30 pounds overweight, lives in a shitty apt. Honest to god, a girl like that I wouldn’t even give her a second look in a bar or club. Not sure how I just caved.
I fucking hate online dating, and this will be my last.

Why did you want to meet her at all if she was that sketchy from the start?
That first paragraph was throwing flags at you and you still wanted to come over?

I (f) am at least cautious inviting someone over. I get you picked a paranoid person to talk to, ignoring all the flags, but you don’t have to insult her physical and financial lifestyle. That just makes you look bad too. She might have psych issues, which there are many on that site, men and women, but you should probably meet up with someone in a public place like a restaurant or park before inviting them into your personal space like home or car, you could get robbed or worse.

Glad you have your life together, but there are slim pickings because the ones you DO find appropriate aren’t up to on line dating right now. Maybe meet them in real life at a gym or restaurant or coffee shop, or book club. Learn from this situation and grow from it. good luck 🙂
her attitude towards that wasn’t nice
If someone refuses to talk on the phone, that should be a clue they’re a flake. First meeting should always be in a public place.
I used to sit in my car talking to my brother before dropping him off at his apartment after hanging out, and we had the cops called on us a couple of times by suspicious neighbors. I’ve also had people approach me while sitting in my car, dicking around on my phone, before heading into my apartment on a few occasions. Some people are apparently just really, REALLY paranoid about people sitting in their car for any period of time. Did the officer confirm that SHE was the one who called them? If not it could have been some rando, and having them show up the way they did spooked her, given her paranoid tendencies. She might also have assumed the cops thought there was something fishy about you, like you were a known quantity to them or something.
I get it man, you need to vent. That sounds like a really shit experience and it seems like you’ve learnt from it so hopefully a one time thing haha. Goodluck out there my guy!
