POF : How can I meet someone online if I don’t want to put my photos in a profile?
I don’t have a real problem sending photos to someone who has an interest…but I don’t want to put them in a public profile that will be forever searchable on Google etc. But without photos you get skipped over without getting a chance. Is there any way to work around this? I just don’t want my face on a public site.

I think if you don’t have a photo, you should plan on being the initiator for contact, or have a really compelling profile. I’ve messaged people w/o pictures if their profile was interesting enough, but it’s more of a gamble as I feel that people w/o pictures aren’t as committed.
i put up a picture, then hid my account. its totally on me to message them, but at least only the girls im interested in can see my picture then. basically you dont show up in the search, and the only way for them to view your profile is by clicking your portrait in the message.
Post a fake photo, then start your profile by explaining that the photo is fake and why. (though truthfully, I doubt it’s going to get you dates)
On the other hand, online dating sites aren’t for everyone. Perhaps you should look for other ways to meet people.
You sound female if you are worried about being skipped over. In that case, you should probably do the initiating and send pics along with the first contact.
