POF : I created a fake female account to see what their inbox looks like
And yeah… in 24 hours I’ve got about 50 messages in my inbox already. A lot of ‘hi how are you’ and ‘hey’ but also a lot of pretty good messages that are clearly well thought out. Another thing I noted is that there is probably about 10 times more men than women on POF as well. It kind of makes me wonder what’s the point in it all if my message just gets buried underneath the rest of them, especially if I am just mr average. Not handsome but not freakish ugly either. Peering into the ‘other side’ of POF is fascinating to say the least. Many of the men are incredibly desperate, sending multiple messages off. If they get even one view of their profile their tongue is practically hanging out of the side of their mouth like a happy dog. It’s so sad. I am definitely going to take a break from POF. In the past I did not have much issue getting replies back and set up a number of dates from different women, but recently (and no I’m not talking about lockdown) it just seems to be worse, far worse.

That’s a good idea! Lol. I always wondered what the guy side of POF looks like. Not sure what kind of model pics you used or info you put on your fake profile but I definitely don’t get 50 messages in 24 hours! Lol.
And I send out plenty of messages to men and get no reply. I’m not super model gorgeous but I’m pretty and have a lot to offer. I do get messages and compliments on my looks.
What each person thinks and finds attractive in another person is subjective and unique to each person. When I don’t get messages back I just shrug it off as I’m not what that other person is looking for or attracted to.
If you got the time, you should make different accounts. Hot chickugly chick, and the opposite of what you think you are. You’ll be surprised by the differences. Ive noticed that conventionally attractive men get way more women messaging them upfront, attractive women get a lot of matches, and if you aren’t conventionally attractive you get ignored or pestered by casuals, fetishes and one night stand propositions.
I did this once too, with similar results. So why the imbalance in online dating demographics and where do the genuine single F hang out?
I’ve talked to a few OLD dares about this whole thing. Seems women dont realize how many boys we get and guys, or me anyways, dont realize how lazy or perverted most other guys are with their messages. It’s amazing that any « normal » dude can even get a convo going.
