POF : Irrational Behaviour by POF users

I’ve been on POF for a few weeks and the absurd often fatuous behaviour displayed by many on POF is rather annoying. I have had random women send me messages when I tap to read their message I get a notification informing me “you have been blocked by this user” So they have gone out of their way to message only block me lol. That is the message some of them are sending through. It sounds absolutely ridiculous. It is ridiculous..

Sometimes it appears you are having seemingly smooth conversations only to find when you attempt to reply back “you have been blocked by this user” Another similar issue I found is just yesterday to test, I scrolled down to previous contacts that didn’t go anywhere only to find I had been blocked by quite a number of them. All for zero reasons, and I had forgotten about them!! I thought blocking was meant to be for any type of abuse or annoyance? That would be fair enough. But they feel the often unnecessary need to go out of their way to manually block and then confirm the blocking. There are other issues such as the common use photo filters and photo smoothing. What happened to real photos of people?

  1. I’ve noticed the blocking is getting out of hand. I actually was thinking of making a post today about it.

Last night I ran across a profile of someone I was interested in. As usual, her profile just said « Ask me » so I sent her a message that said, « Hey, how was your 4th of July? » She blocked me. WTF?

And Snapchat should die a horrible death for the filters. It’s ridiculous when someone has 6 pictures and they all have that stupid fucking dog or panda filter. Really? Are we 12?

  2. You can’t block someone without sending them a message, so these women are browsing guys, sending them a small message, maybe with one letter or two, the using the sent message interface to block men, I guess to preemptively stop some men from messaging them, and since pof bans people who get blocked, these toxic bitches are actually actively removing men from the website.

The block button is necessary, the bans need to be only for reporting and after manual review.

  3. I have had that happen to me with one particular guy. He would add me as a fav then message me, and when I would try to click on his message it would say I was blocked. He did it twice and tried to do it a 3rd time but I was able to call him out on it. He finally deleted his account afterwards.

  4. In all my years of using this site, I don’t think I’ve ever been blocked. I don’t know what you guys do. I did see weird behavior this week though.

I was chatting with a woman for a couple days. She seemed interested. She was actually typing long messages – not the usual halfhearted, three word messages like most chicks.

This morning I saw her account was deleted. Ok whatever. Tonight I saw that she had a new account. The username was similar and I recognized her photo. I felt like messaging her and asking her wtf she was doing but didn’t bother. Obviously something is off with her and if she was interested, she’d message me again on her new account.

I also had a religious nut this week. I normally don’t talk to women who specifically mention God in their profile since I’m not religious. She was hot though and* she* messaged me. We chatted for a couple days. Then she messaged me yesterday, « I met a great guy on here. He’s moving here soon so I’m deleting my account. Bye. » Within a matter of days, she went from single and looking, to taken by a guy she presumably never met and deleting her account.
