POF : Mic usage
I just finished using the app and got a notification that POF is using my mic in the background.
In the current climate of surveillance by tech companies who sell our data to advertisers, i’m not inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. They offer a free service with the most free features for an app of it’s kind, so it wouldn’t suprise me that they’d do such a thing when you consider their business model naturally attracts such a huge consumer base.
Be wary, if you can, after using their streaming service, disable your mic permissions.
There is much more they could do with your private voice recordings in conjunction with their dating data on you.
