POF : Not giving you my PHONE NUMBER MARKUS!
I’ve sadly been a member of POF for a long time. Tried to log into my account today only to get the message « Must give cell# to verify account » Well there’s no way that’s happening! I take my privacy seriously and hate places like POF selling my personal data/PH# to scam callers and getting harassed by them. Made that mistake before of putting my # on the internet, and I ended up changing my ph# because I was sick of getting calls at all hours of the night and my voice box being full. Since I switched ph#’s I’ve gone over two years with out getting a single garbage scam call.
Looks like I’m gonna have to find a different site to meet my one and only.

It makes me wonder how the spambots are still getting through, if they are blocking Google voice. Some google voice-like number?

That’s why the site itself is one big scam – they are trying to get your information — phone numbers /credit card #s/email addresses etc.. The site can end up taking over things like FB n others with that information you « have to verify with » it should be shut down.

Same here, man. I don’t really use the site, not for years, but my profile is there, and if I get a message, I’ll login to check it, so went to check a message, and now they want my phone number. Fuck that. First of all, yeah, a lot of people have cell phones, but not everyone — I don’t. I have one provided to me by my company, but I’m not going to go giving that number away to any website verification, not any. I’m MGTOW anyway, so fuck it — I only check out of pure curiosity.
I’ve seen a pic of somewhere in Asia, and they had hundreds of cell phones all linked to together. Just like emails they somehow can spoof legit numbers.
