POF : People upset about no response
Why do some people get upset if a stranger on the internet does not respond to a message on POF? I can understand if you two have been carrying a conversation for a couple days and the person goes ghost, or if you two already exchanged numbers and have been talking or have met and they ghost. I can see that being hurtful. But why do people care if it’s a complete stranger you haven’t gotten to know yet? Lol the person probably isn’t even real for all you know so why get angry about it?

Agreed. If you get no response after a first message, just let it go. That person is no one to you. Some people just take that stuff too personally, like its some kind of rejection. And worse, if you follow up by adding a second passive aggressive message, well it’s no wonder you can’t find a date. On some sites people don’t even see messages/intros until you match. And I can say that I have had responses sometime weeks, even months later, and had a great connection.
Entitled people feel entitled for a response.
Don’t you know that the world revolves around them??

Not a big deal for me. Most first messages will not respond because its a Dead profile or a bot. POS er I mean POF is full of bots and dead or fake profiles.
Me personally? I’d prefer they block me so they drop off my search and message page never to be seen again (deletes them) or they message back with « not interested » and then I can delete them. If I dont see a response in a week, then I delete them regardless, so they get pulled from search results and I dont waste any more time. On to the next profile.
I always message back if I receive a message or a like, and if I’m not interested I say why briefly, and wish them good luck.
It’s not hard to be civil and to the point at the same time.
But if you’ve got 99 messages in your inbox, one gets to not really give a shit.
