POF : Profile Testimonials – An old feature
Back in 2006 and 2007, when plentyoffish was just a website, they had a feature called Testimonials. You could write a testimonial about another user, say whatever you want about them, and it would be posted on their profile for everyone to see. People would write about meeting or talking to that person, and whether it was a positive or negative experience. I guess the point was to let other users know who was worth talking to and who wasn’t.
The interesting thing about it was, you could post that testimonial without the person’s approval. There was no notification or anything from the site, like, « this person posted a testimonial about you! » Nothing. They wrote it, they hit send, and it was on your profile for everyone to see. No approval, no screening. It was just there.
It was bananas.

I feel as though this story stopped half way.
I remember that. I used to have to check my own profile all the time to see if anyone wrote anything about me.
I remember that and thought it was lame. It is like when people say on their profile « my friends describe as (insert every positive trait known) ». Like your friends are going to say negative things about you and you are going to post this on your profile in hopes of matching with someone.
POF is bull shit way full of cows huge big ugly women and then the one that checks you out is 20 years youngers and doesn’t care about age please .Get a life and be happy by being by self when you least exspect it someone will pop into your life
