POF : Sending a first message?
I have read sending (hi! How are you doing?) Is apparently a terrible message any advice would be great. New to dating apps and trying to get a date or two maybe some new friends but I guess asking how you are doing is played out. How would you send and opening message?

If they list their first name on the profile, use it. Also it helps to ask a question directly related to one of their interests.
You can still say… hi, how are you? But add something that you liked/noticed about one of their pics. Or ask a question or make a comment about something that was in their profile.
Have you tried mentioning something they included in their ‘About Me’ description that caught your eye? Common interests, shared hobbies etc. If they’re well travelled, you might try mentioning some of the places you’ve travelled to and see if that sparks some interest for example.
