POF : What types of scams are on the site?
I’m new on site and want to be aware of different signs to look out for scammers or catfish. What’s your experience?
So far i’ve been exchanging pics and chatting. I was joking with this person about coming to my place and she said ok right away even though we’ve only talked for 2 days. I have a people that sound cool but they would call or say good morning at 2-3am.
I know the site can be deceiving at times but how do you if someone is real or not?

You could end up losing years of your life, and half your earnings on that site. Be careful!!
To me the main issue is consistency. If they’re consistent in what they say it’s a big plus. & they’re happy to talk on the phone (at normal hours) after a few sessions of txt. Plus they don’t put off a meeting that you try to arrange at a neutral venue – the first meeting must always be at a neutral venue & it doesn’t matter if you’re a guy or a girl.
You cannot know someone is real without meeting in person. So, setting up a brief coffee date, after only a few messages of mutual interest, actually makes good sense. Yet, even after you meet in person and start dating, you still may have fallen into a scam. Many online daters use the site as a way to generate a substantial supplemental income stream. They may have multiple financially generous dating partners at the same time. Some often avoid dating any one person for very long. One woman who did this in NYC had a rule about never dating any man more than four times. She maintained a spreadsheet with data about her dates. I think she wrote a book about her online dating adventures that included her estimates about the total amounts her dates had spent paying for her meals and entertainment expenses.
Does anybody have issue with people catfishing? This girl deleted her profile after we moved to Hangouts to chat. Then we i asked for a pic, she sent me one on her profile saying it’s what she’s doing
