POF : What’s with the yelling and name calling?

POF : What’s with the yelling and name calling?

If this isn’t the place to ask I apologize but this is the latest app I use. Obviously it pertains to all of them.
When I started using dating sites I answered all messages to be polite but learned very quickly not to do that if I’m not interested. I’d get yelled at.
So I stopped answering the ones I wasn’t interested in. I get yelled at for that, too, and sometimes harrassed to the point of reporting them.
I’ve sent messages with no answer. I just shrug it off and get on with my life. Someone told me it’s rude not to answer. But yelling at them isn’t? I’d rather they cuss me out under their breath than harass me.
If you were say, in a bar or sitting on a park bench and someone wanted to talk and you weren’t interested and they persisted no matter how polite you try to be, would that work? What if that person yelled at you? You’d probably call the cops.
I’ve been yelled at for not answering in a timely manner (by that I mean in like under 10 minutes or so).
Why do they do this?

  1. When you decide to stop talking or interacting with someone on an app, BLOCK/DELETE them to be sure you don’t get any more message.

Their bad attitude is not your problem. Block/Delete and be done.

  2. Some people can’t handle rejection and calling you names makes them feel better about being rejected. They want to make it look like there is something wrong with YOU rather than admit to themselves you’re just not interested in THEM. Insecure and immature. Don’t dwell on it. It’s their issue not yours.
