  1. Because many men are desperate. Most women get messages everyday but most men are lucky to get one a week. You might have been the only one to look at his profile in a while and he probably thought it wouldn’t hurt to send you a message. Honestly, I don’t think he did anything wrong as long as he takes the hint and moves on from here.

  2. From what I’ve heard a lot, it sounds like a lot of the guys now are so insecure. I’ve had women not message back and would never hound them. If a girl doesn’t answer back, just consider it a no, pull your big boy pants up and move on.

  3. When I send a message, I usually don’t get a response. I tell people it’s about 10% of my output. When I get a view, but no response, I assume she’s not interested and move on. Sometimes, they get back to me days or even weeks later, so I would be stupid to leave an angry message.

That guy seemed fairly polite, like he probably talks that way to women in real life. He sees a woman he’s interested in and tries to strike up a conversation, but she walks away from him. « You won’t talk to me? » he calls after her.

In regards to responding, I’d prefer no response, over a negative response. It doesn’t bother me *that* much, but it hurts for like a second and maybe I think about it a bit longer than I should. It helps to talk about it with friends. Recently I had a woman respond with something like, « Thank you for your message, but you’re just not my type. I wish you the best. » I have to admit it stung a bit, but I moved on.

  4. I had one send me this message almost immediately after I viewed his profile “what’s wrong? Not interested??”
I might have been but not after that

  5. Women do it too. I’ve had messages where they simply assume that any positive response from them would automatically lead to a guaranteed date. Then, when I don’t respond to their original messages, they send follow ups like this guy in OP’s post, expressing a feeling of bewilderment.

I do read their profile. I’m automatically interested in women, initially at least, when they decide to send me a message (except the obvious scammers). However, if something I read in their profile really turns me off, I don’t feel like spending time on them. Some women do the same thing to me, when I send a message. So, why bother?

A dating site I used at one time had a way to categorize those users who would always reply to every message. The system kept track of that and publicly noted that fact about them. I can’t remember whether an older version of POF did that or not. Anyway, I recall treating those particular women with more respect by always replying to their messages. I felt like treating them differently, because I knew those particular women always made an effort to reply to the messages they received.

  6. I mean you could have messaged him to say sorry, not interested. But I’ve seen how some wankers respond to that. Just block people you arent interested in

  7. Just a view lol that’s why women do anymore on pos or just block guys what. A horrible app. I just started talking to a woman that says she’s been single for over 5 years. I have to wonder how many women. Have been single for a decade,or two on plenty of fish because it seems to me a lot of women on there are single for numerous years because of some reason why would they be on there in the first place.
