Well if you could have outbid Match you could have had it, as data played a very large part in how Markus ran POF before he sold, as his foundation of everything he did with that site was rooted in the math.
He use to write about it on his blog and how it shaped certain features that he created.
The pattern that emerges is, the only thing that increases matches is frequency due to the fact that you can not for the most part manipulate attraction. We are not in control of who we are attracted too and thus there is no way to « game » the system aside from using it more.
Which is why all of the features he added were based on increasing frequency of use (Primers), and that would result in a higher success rate and is why he could state that on his site.
Now you must keep in mind that this increase was a small% of a very small% but still statistically it is an increase.
