I’ll take someone who unabashedly likes the things that they like (mainstream or not) over some mopey ass gatekeeper every day of the week. So many people are so concerned with liking The Office not being a personality trait that they are oblivious to the fact that not liking The Office is also not a personality trait.

I did something kinda similar awhile back.
I was living in MPLS at the time, and noticed a lot of the same shit over and over in girls profiles about who they were looking for.
My bio was something along the lines of:
Not a dog person.
Can’t grow a beard.
Don’t have a cabin.
I didn’t see like a dramatic drop off in my number of matches, though it wasn’t like I was rolling in them to begin with, but it did certainly appeal to a certain type of person, and I generally got along with them quite well, so I’d consider it worth a shot.
Perhaps being more focused on « What I’m not » than how basic « What you are is » might yield different results, though.
