You’d think by now that all the bots would’ve found each other.
It also gains two people who will talk about how they met on respective app until they’re users again.
That is why I value hoes.
You know… To make an app for singles who wants to meet someone is not a good business. Because if you are successful, they will not be singles anymore… It’s better to make an app for singles who do not want to meet someone.
Seems right to me. Found Fiancee on Tinder almost 2 years ago, deleted app about 2 months after we met. I still look at r/tinder.
That’s Hinge’s “model” though. I think word of mouth goes a long way. Most of my friends are completely over meeting people the old fashioned way so they turn to dating apps. Whichever app someone has had success with brings at least a couple of other friends to the platform. It’s an optimistic view, but has some merit.
That’s like saying a drug dealer loses customers when he gives them the drugs. It won’t last forever, and they’ll be back
Wait you guys get matches?
This explains literally nothing
Not true for the non monogamous
The dating app hinge is really leaning into this fact. Their ads about how you will delete them are currently all over the NYC subway system. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.theverge.com/platform/amp/2019/4/9/18297278/hinge-designed-to-be-deleted-dating-app-redesign
only in the most basic terms. been using these apps for two years; have had countless pseudo-relationships over the course of that time. still « single. » still smashing.
It loses 3 if the users are doing things right;)
Or they cheat
Meanwhile, us lifetime subscribers get no loyalty benefits.
Allegedly
*laughing in polyamory*
Well maybe for like a night but not permanently usually
Not always….
Yeah but the birth rate is higher than the success rate of dating apps so it doesn’t matter at all
I’d love to stop using them anytime now
I legit used this exact argument in a paper that I reached in today, now I’m seeing this…
Wow, learned something new! Makes sense.
Unless one user is a cheater
Whenever I talk to a girl a dating app gains her
whenever a dating app works, the said two people may talk about it with other people, eventually leading to better publicity and credibility of the app.

so instead of loosing users it may gain many.
Not Ashley Madison.
I met my husband on tinder. Been married for almost four years!
Wife and I met on Tinder so absolutely! We still left the app a great review tho. 🙂
These two would then engage in an activity that has the potential to produce more customers for said dating app.
I’d say it’s a worthwhile investment
Not true. It wound lose the sys admin too.
I recently just canceled my subscription and deleted the app. It was such a waste of time and money. Most profiles were fake, just trying to get me to follow them on Instagram or pay for their premium Snaps. I did talk to a few girls who I believe were basically prostitutes. And as in for the girls who were real and genuine, they all turned out to either be crazy, downright unstable, had deceiving profile pictures, or just flat out ghosted me for no apparent reason.
Never again.
Yeah, but when it REALLY works it makes more future users.
When reddit works for me, it lose just myself for about 3 hours until I stroll back onto r/gonewild again…
There‘s a german dating website that actually advertises this way. We at parship lose members. And that makes as happy. Because we are losing them in pairs.
Sounds like “ShowerThoughts”.
Are you suggesting that a company worth [$23,883,143,005](https://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/mtch), that’s owned by a company worth [$21,323,406,755](https://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/iac) is a sales pipeline and not actually interested in making you a permanent match? [The same company owns 45 dating apps, including Tinder, Plenty of Fish, Hinge, OkCupid, and Match.com](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Match_Group) so you’re really just moving through their product ecosystem and their incentive is to match only enough people as they need for marketing purposes. Match’s NET income in 2018 was nearly $500 million, on revenue of over $1 billion. Delete that app and put that shit in your 401(k) where it belongs.
That’s sweet
Yes it does.
It explains why there is so many using dating apps.
F to the previous/current/future broken up homies.
Does that mean it should be alarming when a dating app has a large amount of customers?
That’s why I never matched
i love that the mother of sarcasm’s profile pic is Hugh Laurie when he was playing Dr. House.
It depends on how they are using it doesn’t it?
This statement has so many untested assumption….
If it doesn’t work it will lose even more users
I guess that’s why they charge you to see who likes you etc…
Is that the reason for the increasing number of users?
This is not true at all.
